Managing Drift

When designing and operating trucks HD Machines considers the following to manage drift:

  1. Use the lower end of the pressure recommended for each nozzle
  2. Lower the boom height possible in order not to maintain the contracted spray pattern
  3. Increase the spray nozzle size to avoid increased pressure (we target 30 to 40 PSI)
  4. Spray until the wind speed is 10 mph and then we manage application to application from 10 mph to 15 mph
  5. Manage the spray with the wind direction (when sensitive areas are present)
  6. Avoid no wind situations to prevent spraying when an inversion is present
  7. Use a drift control agent
